With a Virtual box based guest VM setup sharing folders from host OS to Guest OS is quite straight forward, here are the steps.
Step 1
Share a folder on host OS
Step 2
Mark as auto mount, this will ensure that the folder is automatically mounted when you login to guest OS
Step 3
Start the host OS and navigate to /media/sf_linux_share, this is usually the default folder where shared folders from host OS gets mounted. By default only root user has permissions to access this folder, you may change the permissions to allows access by other OS users.
